About the Award

A dapper Mike off to attend a Discipline Hearing

Mike Wyers' refereeing dates back to the 1970's.

As one of the original members of the Burlington Senior Referees group, Mike's involvement in refereeing in Burlington continued as he was part of the group that formed the Halton Branch of the Ontario Soccer Referees Association (OSRA).

During his refereeing career, Mike continued to support youth soccer, and was Club Head Referee of the Oakville Soccer Club.  He continued to support our Association until his passing on November 12, 2001.

This award, named in Mike's honour, is given to a member of the Association who demonstrates dedication to support our local youth soccer clubs while providing mentorship to younger Match Officials.

This Year's Recipient

Michael Morrison

Mike has been actively involved in refereeing for a number of years and it's joked that Mike will referee any league that will let him.  He's been giving back to the community by being a large part of the Mentoring Program at Oakville Soccer Club.

Always willing to share a smile, Mike is a delight to be around and is a worthy recipient of the Mike Wyers award.
